Why a private tour beats a bus tour
On a big-bus city tour you follow the schedule of 40 other people. On a private tour, the group decides: linger in the old town, skip the museum, or add a long lunch on the Malecón. Your driver knows the city, speaks English and Spanish, and keeps an eye on the clock so you are back at the pier on time.

The cable car is closed
The Isabel de Torres cable car (Teleférico) closed in 2024 and a major rehabilitation project was announced in March 2026, so it is not on our route for now. We will add it back as soon as it reopens.

How much does the private city tour cost?
About $60 per person, with round-trip port pickup and a private vehicle and driver included. We confirm the exact price on WhatsApp because it depends on your group size and the stops you choose.
How long is the tour?
It is flexible. A typical city tour takes a few hours, and we plan it around your all-aboard time so you are never rushed.
Is the tour really private?
Yes. It is just your group with your own driver. Groups can be from 2 to 20 people.
Where do you pick us up?
At the Amber Cove or Taíno Bay pier, or at a hotel in the Puerto Plata area. We confirm the exact meeting spot after you book.
Are entrance fees included?
No. Entrance fees for places like the fortress or the Amber Museum, plus food and drinks, are paid on the spot. Opening hours can change, so we confirm them the day before.
Can we include the waterfalls or a buggy ride?
Yes, with enough time in port. Add the Damajagua waterfalls tour, a buggy or ATV ride, or the monkey experience and tell us your all-aboard time. We will tell you honestly what fits.
Can I ride the cable car?
Not at the moment. The Isabel de Torres cable car closed in 2024 and a rehabilitation project was announced in March 2026.
What is the cancellation policy?
Bookings made through our Viator listing can be cancelled free up to 24 hours before the tour. For direct bookings, message us on WhatsApp as early as you can and we will find the best option for you.
