What the ride is like

Easy to drive

Our buggies are automatic, so there is no clutch or gear shifting. Your guide gives a full safety briefing before you start.

Jungle trails and villages

Dirt roads, countryside and local communities in the hills behind the coast.

Mud and river crossings

Expect splashes. The mud and the river crossings are the best part of the ride.

Beach stop at Playa Teco

Swim in the Caribbean, rinse off, and enjoy food and drinks on the beach.

Which buggy should I choose?

The Buggy Tour is for one or two riders in an open-frame buggy. The Family Buggy Tour is an XL buggy for up to four people, with a full roll cage and harness seats. If you have kids under the driving age, the family buggy keeps everyone together in one vehicle.

Mud, water and what to wear

You will get muddy and wet, and that is part of the fun. Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you do not mind getting dirty, and bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a change of clothes for after the beach stop. At our on-site shop you can rent or buy goggles ($5) and face cloth masks against mud and dust.

You can bring a GoPro or phone, but keep it secured. Our team also takes photos and videos along the route, available to buy if you want them.

How the tour goes

  1. Pickup or arrival

Cruise guests are picked up at the pier. Everyone else meets us at our base at the entrance to Playa Teco, about 15 minutes early for registration.

  2. Waiver and safety briefing

A quick waiver, helmets on, and a full explanation of the controls and the route.

  3. Ride with your guide

Your guide leads the way and stops for photos and breaks.

  4. Beach stop

Swim, shower and eat at Playa Teco.

  5. Return

Cruise guests are driven back to the pier before all-aboard.
